Shopify's B2B Rollout: What's Universal vs. Plus-Only Now

Shopify's April 2026 update put core B2B tools on every plan. Here's the exact line where Plus-exclusive features still start.

Since April 2, 2026, Shopify's own B2B stack stopped being a Plus-only story. Shopify's changelog and shopify.com/news announced that Basic, Grow, and Advanced merchants got native B2B features that had lived exclusively on Plus for nearly four years — at no additional cost. That's a real shift for agencies and merchants scoping a wholesale build who assumed Plus was required to sell B2B natively. But "B2B is now on all plans" is only partly true, and the boundary that remains is precise enough to get wrong if you're skimming a changelog post instead of the plan-feature table.

What Moved to Every Plan

As of April 2, 2026, Basic, Grow, and Advanced accounts get: company profiles, up to 3 active B2B catalogs (assigned via Shopify Markets), net payment terms, volume pricing and quantity rules, ACH payments (U.S. only), and vaulted credit cards. Shopify's help center plan-features table confirms companies, company locations, location-level permissions, quantity rules and price breaks, net terms, payment reminders, ACH, vaulted cards, draft-order-to-invoice, checkout-to-draft, easy reorders, PO numbers, sales staff permissions, the Trade theme, quick order list, and Shopify Flow B2B objects are all checked on every plan, Basic through Plus.

Where Plus Still Starts

Five capabilities remain gated to Plus per that same table: unlimited B2B catalogs plus direct catalog assignment to a company or company location (non-Plus plans cap out at 3 catalogs, assignable only via Markets), deposit requirements on companies and on draft orders, partial payments, and payment requests per fulfillment. A sixth line sits one tier down rather than at Plus: contextual checkout and contextual storefront through Shopify Markets require Advanced or Plus — they aren't available on Basic or Grow.

The Numeric Ceilings That Apply on Every Plan

Regardless of plan, Shopify's documented limits are: a company can have up to 10,000 company locations and up to 10,000 customers; a single company location can have up to 25 catalogs and up to 50 customers. Payment term options — net 7/15/30/45/60/90, due-on-fulfillment, and (for draft orders only) a fixed date — are available on every plan; deposits on top of those terms are Plus-only. A related, smaller change followed on April 13, 2026: Checkout Blocks order value limits (minimum/maximum order subtotal), which Shopify explicitly framed as a follow-on to the B2B expansion, also became available on all plans.

For a team scoping a build, the practical read is straightforward: if the requirement is wholesale buyers self-serving with net terms and volume pricing, Basic through Advanced now covers it. If the requirement includes deposits, partial payments, per-fulfillment payment requests, more than 3 catalogs, or direct catalog-to-company assignment, Plus is still the only plan that supports it.
